Law is all around us but we mostly perceive it as words—words in statute books, in court judgments, and in writings about the law. I paint to express how law organizes society, how it constrains and enables action, how it guides and hides its own content, how it layers over time and in layering, how law illuminates and erodes its own history and purpose.
